Hikes depart in the early morning from Grand Canyon National Park Visitor Center. The recommended daily start time from June through August is 6 a.m. In April, May, and September, the recommended start time is 7 a.m. From October through March, the recommended start time is 8 a.m. Departure times can usually be modified to suit your needs, but we suggest abiding by theses times, especially during the summer months.
Here are items that you should bring or wear:
- 3 liters of water
- Broken in hiking boots or trail shoes
- Sunscreen
- Hat with brim
- Waterproof jacket
- Base layers and/or outer layers
Canyonology Treks provides packs and trekking poles for day hikers, free of charge. However, if you’ve traveled to the canyon with your own gear, please feel free to bring it with you.
